Preparing for your journey on the Classic Inca Trail 4-Days Trek is crucial, and we’re dedicated to ensuring you have a seamless experience. To address any questions and provide comprehensive information, our guide will meet with you at your hotel 1 to 2 days before departure.

This essential briefing, typically scheduled for 7:00 pm at your hotel, can be adjusted with prior coordination a week before your trek. Our goal is to make sure you’re fully prepared and confident for your adventure to this world wonder.

DAY 1: CUSCO – 82 KM (PISKACUCHO) – WAYLLABAMBA

For your 4-day Inca Trail trek, we’ll pick you up at 4:30 a.m. in our private transport from your hotel, heading towards Km 82. En route, we’ll stop in the sacred valley at Ollantaytambo town for an optional breakfast and last-minute purchases like sunscreen or hats. Then, we continue to PISKACUCHO Km 82 (2,720 meters), at the base of Veronica Wakay Huillca (5,700 meters), where our cook and porters await with camping gear for a smooth ascent.

You’ll explore the ancient Patallacta from the Willcaracay viewpoint, an Inca site with military significance, led by an expert guide. After, enjoy a riverside lunch crafted by our chef, showcasing culinary expertise. The hike then proceeds uphill for 2 hours to the AYAPATA camp (3,300 m), a secluded spot far from the usual crowds, ensuring a peaceful rest.

SECOND DAY: AYAPATA – CHAQUICOCHA

This is a very challenging day and full of adrenaline; in which we will cross the biodiversity of the ecological floors of the Andean zone, and we will pass through the highest points of the entire Inca trail.

We will start the long walk after a delicious breakfast, ascending through the heart of the cloud forest formed by a variety of vegetation and the prevailing native trees. We will arrive to the highest spot of the Inca road after 4 hours of long walk, the pass of dead womans pass WARMIWAÑUSCA ( 4,215 meters/ 13,825 feet ),  here we will proudly give a sigh full of  satisfaction for having  achieved the challenge of reaching  the highest point of the Inca road. From there we will be able to observe the amazing scenery of mountains, glaciers and steep valleys.

Then, we will descend towards PACAYMAYU’S valley ( 3,600 meters/ 11,800 feet ) where our staff will prepare lunch that will reward your successful effort.

The challenging journey continues as we ascend the second summit of Runku’s Racay (3,977 mts/13,127 ft). Along our trek upwardly, an archeological site awaits to be explored – Runqu Racay. One more hour’s invigorating hour-long trek will bring us to a breathtaking pass worthy of admiration!

you will eventually come across some daunting Inca steps that lead down to Sayacmarca Archaeological Center ( 3,657 meters /12,000 feet ). Venturing into this heritage site is sure to be an awe-inspiring experiences that along the horizon shows us an impressive sight of the high jungle and the tropical forest, which also the sunset  creates an enigmatic scene,  something like we would  be following  the Golden City

From here we will be able to see the CHAQUICOCHA camp (3,600 mt. / 11,800 ft ),with a 25-minute easy walk, you’ll be there in no time.

THIRD DAY: CHAQUICOCHA – WIÑAYWAYNA

Today, on our Inca Trail 4 Day trek, experience the awe of hiking through the Andes and the vibrant high jungle. Marvel at breathtaking Incan structures, a testament to ancient architectural brilliance.

After a hearty breakfast, we embark on a serene walk along the cloud forest, treading the flat, cobblestoned Inca path for 1.5 hours until we reach PHUYUPATAMARCA Pass (3,700 meters/12,140 feet). Here, look over the expansive Urubamba valley and towering peaks like Veronica (5,700 meters/18,700 feet), Salkantay (6,271 meters/20,574 feet), and Pumasillo (5,700 meters/18,700 feet).

The journey descends for 3 hours through a sub-tropical rainforest, where we explore the archaeological sites of Phuyupatamarca and Intipata. We’ll have lunch at WIÑAYWAYNA campsite (2,650 meters/8,694 feet). Post-lunch, indulge in a refreshing nap, and possibly a revitalizing mountain shower if the weather permits. We’ll conclude the day with a visit to the magnificent Wiñaywayna, often likened to a Mini Machu Picchu, just a 10-minute walk from our camp.

FOURTH DAY: WIÑAYWAYNA – MACHUPICCHU- AGUAS CALIENTES-CUSCO

The most anticipated day of the Inca Trail 4-Day trek arrives, as you edge closer to achieving your dream. Rise early at 03:30 am, greeted by a warm cup of tea or coffee, ready to embark on the day’s adventure. Enjoy a convenient take-away breakfast prepared by our chef.

After an early check-in, we’ll head to the Sun Gate, INTI PUNKU (2,720 m / 8,900 ft.), where you’ll be treated to a stunning panoramic view of the Machu Picchu citadel and distant mountains. A 45-minute walk then leads you to the iconic upper part of Machu Picchu, perfect for those classic photographs. Take some time for a snack and restroom break before delving into a guided exploration of the ancient city.

Your journey continues with a 25-minute bus ride to Aguas Calientes, followed by a train ride from the station to either Ollantaytambo or Poroy, depending on your reserved service. Finally, our vehicle will be waiting to escort you back to your hotel in Cusco, completing your memorable Inca Trail 4 Day adventure.

In order to book the short Inca Trail 4 days with Allyn Pacha Cusco, click on the BOOK NOW button, then select your prefer departure date, then, do the payment of your deposit of $200 per person. Once we get your deposit, sed us a copy or a good photo of the passports of each participant (required to purchase the ticket and get the permit) and the last step we will send you a 100% confirmation of your trip.  

WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF THE PAYMENT BALANCE?

The Inca trail classic 4 day outstanding balance can be made one day earlier your trip in cash USD or soles, and the Cash payment must be paid 1 day prior to your trip. If you prefer Pay on line Visa or Pay Pal at least one week prior to your trip (plus a 7% service fee).

MAY I CHANGE THE DEPARTURE DATE AFTER THE PERMITS HAVE BEEN BOUGHT?

it’s a shame to tell that is not possible. Once is made the confirmation; the 4 day Inca trail classic trek permits have been bough. Peruvian government is strict in the limitation of ticket permits and regulations, where does not allow any changes. So that, permits are not transferable and refundable. Therefore, if you cancel the classic Inca Trail tour, the deposit done is not refundable at all! 

DO I NEED TO BRING MY PASSPORT?

Yes! Its mandatory to have the original passport to be checked at the Inca trail and Machu Picchu and is very important that it has to be the same passport you sent us to book your Inca Trail classic and Machu Picchu permit. In case, you are renewing your passport, please send us ASAP the copy of your old passport and bring both of them with you to secure your permit.  

CAN I STORE MY LUGGAGE AT YOUR OFFICE?

Of course, will be a pleasure to put away your luggage at our company storage or at your hotel that is free for customers, whichever is more convenient for you. After your return of your trip 4 days Inca trail, we give you back.

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE OF MY TRAIN TICKET?

We book afternoon trains in order to have enough time during the hike and visit Machu Picchu. Our Expedition train service chosen (recommended) departs from Aguas calientes train station at 2:55 pm that take you to the train station of Ollantay Tambo arriving at 4:41 pm. Nevertheless, the reserve will depend on the available space; because it is the only means of transportation to return to the closest stations. Therefore, very recommended to book in advance.
