DAY 1: CUSCO - 82 KM (PISKACUCHO) – WAYLLABAMBA
We pick you up early in the morning at your hotel (6:30am), then we drive in our private bus to the sacred valley of the incas for 1 hour and 30 minutes, we stop at Ollantaytambo to have breakfast (not included) and buy the last minutes things for the trek. Afterwards, we drive to the 82 Km (2,720 mts / 8,923 feet), where we start walking for 4 hours to get the lunch spot, passing by llactapata Inca site (2,650 mts/8,747 ft) After a delicious lunch we continue the hike up to Kusichaca valley enjoying myriad of flora and fauna, until Wayllabamba to set up our first camp.

DAY 2: WAYLLABAMBA – DEAD WOMAN'S PASS - PACAYMAYU
Today is the challenging day! We wake up at 5:30am; after a delicious breakfast we start trekking uphill through the Llullucha Valley for 4 hours to reach Llullucha Pampa (3,800 mts/12,537 ft) to have lunch. Then step by step we carry on to get the highest point of our trek Warmi Wañusca pass (Dead Woman pass) located at 4,215 mts/13,907 ft. Once at the top you can celebrate the most difficult part of the Inca trail, and also you may enjoy the spectacular views of different microclimates, magnificent mountains, beautiful green valleys. The decent from the pass is steep although not difficult, following the trail on the mountain side of the valley to the valley floor and to the second night’s campsite at Pacaymayo (3,600 mts/ 11,800 feet).

DAY 3: LLULLUCHAPAMPA - PAQAYMAYU - CHAQ’ICOCHA - PHUYUPATAMARCA
Today is a cultural day! From the camp takes about an hour to climb up to visit the first areological site of Runcuracay (3,800 mts/12,540 ft). It may have an interesting purpose at Incan times. Another 40-minute hike will bring you to the top of the second pass Runcuracay (3,977 mts/13,127 ft).
After about 1 hour descent from the second pass, you’ll arrive at Sayacmarca (3,600 mts/11,877 ft) another beautiful Inca site located at the ridge of the mountain surrounded by precipice with no access and below lies the jungle treeline; a nice place to explore. Not far away is the lunch spot Chaquicocha.
Finally, we walk for two more hours to our third campsite Phuyupatamarca (3,700 meters / 12,140 feet), walking through the Peruvian cloud forest full of orchids, hanging mosses, tree ferns and flowers, passing through an impressive Inca tunnel, carved into the rock, on the way. From the campsite we can enjoy the spectacular views of the Urubamba Canyon and Machu Picchu Mountain surround by snow-capped mountains.

DAY 4: PHUYUPATAMARCA - WIÑAYWAYNA – MACHU PICCHU – AGUAS CALIENTES
After a testy breakfast, we walk down stairs to the lunch spot. A few minutes after is the areological site of Phuyupatamarca, an impressive Inca site. The name means “town in the clouds”. Access to the ruins is down a steep flight of stairs passing six “Inca baths “probably used for the ritual to worship of water.
Leaving the site after our guide explanation we lead on the main Inca trail via an impressive Inca staircase descending hundreds of steps. Be careful with your knees. After about 2 hours of walking through cloud forest and reach the archaeological site of Intipata, then down to Wiñaywayna (2,650 mts/8,747 ft) for lunch. Then comes an undulated trail with gently up and down terrain for one hour of walk to the SUN GATE (2,720 mts/8,977 ft), from where suddenly the whole of Machu Picchu is spread out before you. Then we will descendent for another 40 minutes’ walk down to Machu Picchu itself and arrive to the most wished spot where all the postcard photos are taken of Machu Picchu.
Finally, we catch the bus down to Aguas Calientes (2,040 mts/6,692 ft.) town where you will spend the night in a private hotel.

DAY 5: AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO
We leave our hotel after breakfast to take the bus for the tour of Machu Picchu citadel. Once inside the citadel we are provided with a 2 hour guided on the circuit 3. After the tour there is an extra walk those who booked the extra hike to Huayna Picchu Mountain. You should request in advance to assure your permit. Then ride the bus back to Aguas Calientes town and at 14:55 hours we take our return train to Ollantaytambo station with a tourist bus connection to Cusco. The return trip from Aguas calientes to Cusco is about 4 hours.

Peruvian government is strict in the limitation of ticket permits and regulations, where does not allow any changes. So that, permits are not transferable and refundable. Therefore, if you cancel your Inca Trail 5 days tour, the deposit done is not refundable at all!
DO I NEED TO BRING MY PASSPORT?
Yes! Its mandatory to have the original passport to be checked at the beginning and along the Inca trail and Machu Picchu and is very important that it has to be the same passport you sent us to book your Inca Trail to Machu Picchu permit. In case, you are renewing your passport, please send us ASAP the copy of your old passport and bring both of them with you to secure your permit.
CAN I STORE MY LUGGAGE AT YOUR OFFICE?

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE OF MY TRAIN TICKET?
We book afternoon trains in order to have enough time during the hike and visit Machu Picchu. Our Expedition train service chosen (recommended) departs from Aguas calientes train station at 2:55 pm that take you to the train station of Ollanta Tambo arriving at 4:41 pm. Nevertheless, the reserve will depend on the available space; because it is the only means of transportation to return to the closest stations. Therefore, very recommended to book in advance.

IS THE CLASSIC INCA TRAIL HARD?
Definitely the hike is difficult, due to the terrain level and its high altitude that crosses mountains with the steep steps, where we highly recommend to be prepared in good physical condition for the classical Inca trail to Machu Picchu hike.
Nevertheless, our hike Premium Inca trail 5 days is design to walk slower and keep away from the crowd.
HOW LONG IS THE CLASSIC INCA TRAIL?
The length of the Inca trail classic is 42 kilometers / 26 miles starting form km 82 the community Piskacucho until Machu Picchu citadel.
IS THE QUARRY INCA TRAIL HARDER THAN THE CLASSIC?
In fact, both are difficult, although in terms of terrain the quarry Inca trail is a bit easier which mostly path is flat ground that goes up and down hill, meanwhile Inca trail classic is paved with steps that goes up and down; making it harder. The Inca quarry cover 32 km / 19.8 miles less than Inca trail classic.
CAN A BEGINNER HIKE THE INCA TRAIL?
Of course, yes! you don’t need any technical skills to trek on Inca trail to Machu Picchu. Nevertheless, we recommend to train doing small hikes and exercises. Also arrive to Cusco 1-2 days prior the trek departure for your better acclimatization.
DOES THE INCA TRAIL NEED PERMIT?
Yes, it does. The Inca trail 5 days to Machu Picchu treks as well as the other Inca trail versions are required to book in advance, due to the limited number of permits issued per day of 500 people that includes tourist, cooks, porters and guides. the permits can run out easily, especially for peak season (may- September). WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE IN THE INCA TRAIL 5 DAY?
The weather in this region is unpredictable, where it can change frequently at any time of the year, having all the seasons of the year in a single day with very cold, wind, rain and sun. Hikers should be prepared with proper gear and be ready for variable weather conditions that changes drastically during the day and night time. However, Cusco region has 2 marked seasons rain season (Sep-Apr) and dry season (May-Aug)
